MISSION
Established in 2000, VNNIC (under the Ministry of Science and Technology) is Viet Nam’s National Internet Information Center (NIC), providing core Internet infrastructure (national domain name .VN, IP/ASN, nsuring the secure and stable operation oft the national DNS system, and the Vietnam National Internet eXchange – VNIX) and promoting a safe, reliable, and sustainable Internet in Viet Nam.
Vision: The Internet connects globally. It is inclusive, secure, and sustainable. VNNIC, as a pioneer, leads and promotes the development of Viet Nam's Internet, connecting the region.
VNNIC's main tasks and power
The tasks and power of VNNIC are stipulated in Decision No. 164/QĐ-BKHCN dated 03 March 2025 by the Minister of Science and Technology, replacing Decision No. 48/QĐ-BTTTT dated 18 January 2024 by the Minister of Information and Communications.”
- Perform public service responsibilities
- Carry out state management support tasks for the Ministry of Science and Technology
- Carry out governance and institutional development tasks
- Fulfill other duties as prescribed by law or assigned by the Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology
VNNIC provides essential Internet services:
- Management of the .VN National Domain, IP Address and ASN Registration
- Ensuring the Stable Operation of the DNS System and the Vietnam National Internet eXchange (VNIX)
- Reliable Internet Resource Information (Internet Atlas, i-Speed)
- Viet Nam Internet Community Engagement (VNNIC Internet Conference, VNIX-NOG, Internet Academy)
